Name
The name of the group shall be the Joint Council of Professional Business Groups (JCPBG].

Mission
The JCPBG is an informal group of representatives of various non-profit organizations which have a commonality of membership and wish to explore ways in which their organization may benefit by sharing calendars, holding joint meetings, co-sponsoring seminars, etc.

Policies

Governance
The council shall be guided by it's Mission and Policies.  Business may be enacted by a majority of the members present.

It shall be Chaired by one individual who shall be elected by the council members.

The council shall also designate a Secretary to keep and distribute notes of the meetings.

Meetings
The council shall determine the schedule for meetings.

Individuals, other than the liaisons, are more than welcome to attend the meetings whenever it is appropriate.

Sub groups, such as all the newsletter chairs, may wish to hold their own meetings on whatever frequency they see fit or they deem appropriate.

Membership
Organizations indicating an interest in joining the council may be approved by a simple majority vote of the representatives of the current member organizations in attendance at the time the vote is taken.

The organization shall send one representative to serve as liaison at each meeting. In the event the liaison can not attend, it is their responsibility to make sure a representative attends in their place.  It is recommended that the liaison be someone who serves on the board of their respective organization and who has a good knowledge of the needs of their organization.

Each organization shall strive to have continuity in their representation. It would be better to have an individual serve more than one year than to have the liaison change every year.

Each organization shall identify who the key person is in their organization for each of the following categories: Communication, Education, Programs, and how to reach those individuals via mail and email.

Joint Activities
All requests for assistance from another organization [meeting notices, etc.] shall be directed to the liaison who shall forward to the appropriate individual within their organization.

No organization is required to reproduce or advertise another organization's events, but the existence of the council is dependent upon each organization helping the others.

An organization shall not be expected to spend money to help promote another organization's activities. If a cost is involved, the organization should get the written approval of their liaison before expending any monies.
